When he was alive, there were so many peculiar rumours surrounding Michael Jackson that it became absolutely impossible to know what to believe. Apparently he had bought the Elephant Man's bones, slept in an oxygen tank and wanted to build a 100ft robot imitation to charge through the Las Vegas desert. It seems none of these were true so should we believe today's claims that there are plans to have him brought back to life in 3-D?According to reports, an American businessman has been trying to sell scans of the late pop icon's body, which scientists say could be used to resurrect him in music videos, computer games, movies and maybe even live performance. The price for the images, which were captured in 1996 in a bid to build a cloned Jacko android, is £1 million. "The data has been in our archives and vault since then", said the undisclosed owner. "The thing about this data is it immortalised him at the age of 37, before his nose was disfigured and when he was in the prime of life", he explained.
Sound absolutely ridiculous? Of course! But this is Michael Jackson we're talking about, a pioneer in virtually every field of popular culture and an artist beyond compare. In fact, this would not be the first time he's gone 3-D. In 1986, he teamed-up with Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas for "Captain EO", a landmark short film caught-up in the "Star Wars" afterglow sweeping the world. Screened exclusively at Disneyland theme parks, the movie saw Michael acting out all his fantasies as a space-bound superhero, who's only mission was, of course, to rid the world of evil through music. Sadly, 3-D glasses are not included...
